This unique preparation for silk fibres is a large dome shape from which each whisper thin layer can be separated for spinning or to use in felting for strength and luster. Start by pulling open a hole in the center of the cap and then pull apart by spreading your hands further and further apart. You can even stretch it out into a fine enough "yarn" that you can knit directly from the cap. Comes in a 25 gram bag which contains dozens of caps.
